ENGR. LAWRENCE C. ACHIGBU

Engr. Chibuike Lawrence Achigbu stands as a towering figure in Nigeria’s gas industry, embodying excellence, innovation, and transformative leadership. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Mr. Achigbu’s contributions have profoundly shaped the landscape of petroleum engineering and gas management in Nigeria.
Engr. Achigbu’s academic journey is a testament to his unwavering pursuit of knowledge and excellence. He holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Business Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership Development from Harvard Business School, a Master’s degree in Political Economy from the University of Lagos, and a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum/Petrochemical Engineering Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. His academic achievements have been recognized with numerous accolades, including a Doctor of Technology (D. Tech) Honoris causa from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, the Excellency and Integrity Award from the Federal University of Petroleum Studies, Effurum, and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from his alma mater.
A prolific researcher, Engr. Achigbu’s work has significantly advanced industry knowledge. His Master’s thesis, “Effective Use of Labor as a Competitive Advantage,” and his Bachelor’s thesis, “Effects of Pollution in a Marine Environment,” reflect his commitment to addressing critical challenges and driving innovation within the sector.
As the Group Managing Director and CEO of Chimons Gas Limited, Mr. Achigbu has demonstrated visionary leadership, overseeing a workforce of over 200 employees. His strategic initiatives have revolutionized the domestic LPG market, increasing Nigeria’s LPG consumption from 70,000 metric tons in 2007 to an astounding 1,200,000 metric tons by 2022. His advisory roles with the Department of Petroleum Resources and collaborations with the National Planning Commission have been instrumental in shaping regulatory guidelines and utilization policies, setting new standards for the industry.
Mr. Achigbu’s professional excellence has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the NSE STAR AWARD for Engineering Innovation, Practice, and Entrepreneurship, the Fellowship of the Institute of Management Consultants, Nigeria, and the International Professional Management Association, UK. In 2023, he received the Business Day Next Bulls Award for Leadership and Innovation and was named Brand CEO of the Year by Africa’s Brands CEO Forum.
His leadership extends beyond Chimons Gas Limited. As Chairman of the Board at Triansel Gas Ltd, he collaborates with the Nigerian Content Development Management Board on pioneering gas extraction initiatives. His tenure as Executive Chairman of Solberg Nigeria Limited saw the successful completion of significant road projects and a sweeping digital transformation. At Imo Marketing Company Limited, he spearheaded a remarkable turnaround, driving profitability and growth. Additionally, his strategic vision revitalized the Standard Shoe Company Ltd through innovative partnerships.

VINCENT OKORO

Mr Vincent Okoro is a dynamic and results-driven professional with extensive experience in leading sales, marketing, business operations, and development initiatives.
Renowned for his strategic mindset, exceptional leadership, and ability to drive growth in competitive markets, he has a proven track record of delivering outstanding results across diverse industries.
With a deep understanding of market trends, consumer behaviour, product management, and operational efficiency, Mr Okoro excels in crafting and implementing innovative strategies that optimise revenue generation, enhance brand positioning, and improve operational effectiveness.
He is highly skilled at identifying growth opportunities, building high-performance teams, and fostering longterm client relationships. His leadership has consistently led to significant increases in market share, profitability, and overall business success. A graduate of Business Administration from Lagos State University, Mr Okoro was a pioneer member of the Chimons Gas Team and has established himself as a skilled trader in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). His expertise lies in developing marketing channels, formulating strategies, and identifying new market opportunities for the company. Mr Okoro is married and enjoys reading, travelling, and networking in his spare time.

OGBUAGU, AGWU OKENWA

Finance Manager

Agwu Okenwa Ogbuagu is a seasoned finance professional, currently heading the finance function at Chimons Gas Limited. He holds a degree in Accounting from Abia State University, Uturu, and an MBA in Finance from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho. His academic and professional background reflects his unwavering commitment to upholding high ethical and operational standards within the financial sector.
Agwu’s career spans over 11 years at Fidelity Bank, where he excelled as a Control and Compliance Manager, rising to the position of Senior Banking Executive. During his tenure in the banking sector, he gained expertise in financial accounting, tax management, anti-money laundering, risk management, and strategic planning. These experiences laid the foundation for his success in the financial services industry and his later achievements in corporate finance.
A Chartered Accountant, Agwu is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI), and a Designated Compliance Person (DCP) with the Compliance Institute Nigeria. His vast experience, coupled with his numerous professional qualifications, showcases his dedication to integrity, teamwork, innovation, and adding value through his work.
Agwu’s academic pursuits continue with a PhD in Environmental and Energy Policy at Michigan Technological University in view. This endeavor aligns with his professional focus on the energy sector, positioning him to contribute to policy development in sustainability, environmental management, and global energy policy.
In his current role as Chief Financial Officer at Chimons Gas Limited, Agwu has demonstrated remarkable proficiency in financial management, compliance, auditing, and reporting. His leadership ensures that the company upholds the highest standards of financial governance and regulatory compliance, driving growth through strategic financial planning and robust documentation practices.
With a unique blend of financial expertise and a growing academic focus on energy policy, Agwu is poised to contribute significantly to both the financial and environmental sectors.

Onyeka Kingsley - Finance Manager at Triansel

Kingsley is a thoroughbred professional with a core skillset gained from sound academic training, relevant work experiences, and exposure in the strategy development, project execution, and business development functions of banking, FMCG, consulting, and energy industries. His competencies cut across Joint Venture Operations, Mergers and Acquisition Valuation, Infrastructure Financing, Energy Market Analysis, Policy and Economic Evaluation, and Risk Management. 

He is a seasoned Finance and Energy expert with over 12 years of experience in the energy value chain, known for his visionary approach and versatility having successfully led multidisciplinary teams to achieve strategic business objectives and execute complex projects, driving organizational growth through creativity and innovation. Kingsley has a BSc degree in Economics from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, graduating among the top one percent in his class. He holds an MBA in Finance and Investments from ALBA Graduate Business School at The American College of Greece, and an MSc in Energy Economics from the University of Dundee, Scotland, graduating with distinction. He also possesses an OND certificate in Accounting from Yaba College of Technology and has undertaken a professional course in Mineral and Energy Economics jointly delivered by the Australian National University, Canberra and the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

As the General Manager – Finance at Triansel Gas Limited, Kingsley is responsible for all finance-related matters, including forecasting, budgeting, resource management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. He plays a pivotal role in project feasibility modeling and financing, notably managing the construction of a 5,500 MT LPG facility in Koko, Delta State, Nigeria. Previously, as Finance and Operations Manager for StediPower at West Power and Gas Limited, Kingsley provided strategic and technical support for project planning and execution. He has also held significant roles at International Energy Services Limited, Eko Electricity Distribution Company, and the Center for Public Policy Alternatives (CPPA), and Subsea 7, where he contributed to financial modeling, project cost control, and policy analysis. While at EKEDC he helped to improve company revenues through tariff shortfall recoveries. At CPPA, he led the 2007 Nigeria Natural Resource Charter (NNRC) Benchmark Exercise, producing a policy document for engaging with policy makers in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. 

Kingsley is a Chartered Accountant and is pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification. His commitment to professional development is evident through various training programs, including courses on Power BI, IFRS, and Petroleum Economics. He is a recipient of multiple scholarships including the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) master’s degree scholarship, A.G. Leventis MBA scholarship, the Australia Africa Awards, and the CFA Access scholarship.

 

Beyond his professional endeavours, Kingsley enjoys playing scrabble and monopoly, and is an avid football enthusiast.

B.Eng, MSc Engr. Ikedi Eberendu, Gas Process Engineer at Chimons Gas Ltd

Engr. Ikedi Eberendu is a seasoned oil and gas professional with over a decade of experience in engineering construction, project management, and operational leadership. He holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Soil and Water Bioresources Engineering Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

Engr. Eberendu has successfully managed significant projects, including the development of a 130mmscfd integrated gas processing facility the ovade-ogharefe gas processing plant for Pan Ocean Oil Corporation Limited, operator of OML98. His expertise extends to overseeing diverse portfolios encompassing EPC of power, infrastructure and oil and gas projects. 

Engr. Eberendu has served as the transaction advisor for The Nigeria Pipelines and Storage Company Limited (NPSC) in its recently concluded rehabilitation of critical pipeline and depot infrastructure under a Build, Operate, and Transfer (BOT) PPP model. Additionally, he has performed front-end engineering design and feasibility studies for a 27,000 barrels per day refinery for an NNPCL subsidiary.

Certified in Plant Design and Maintenance Systems, HSE management, and ISO standards, Engr. Eberendu is known for his commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. He consistently delivers complex projects on time and within budget. Passionate about sustainable energy solutions, he continues to drive innovation and operational excellence in the oil and gas sector.
